Presenting the long awaited much requested now updated:
The Rangers are a team of dedicated Waste World players who are involved behind the scenes in a number of ways: with ideas and feedback on all Waste World game material before publication; and with demos at conventions and stores.
This guide identifies the role they play, and the benefits they receive. If you decide you like the idea, e-mail us with the details in the ranger application form below.
Were looking to set up a Rangers web page on the Waste World site where we can put contact details and mug shots of rangers. People in your area interested in playing Waste World can then contact you. This is entirely up to you, you need to e-mail us agreeing before any of your details go on the site. The photos aspect depends on you sending us photos of yourselves for us to scan in, or e-mailing us with scanned images.
We know you like doing em, and we like you doing em, cheers boys and girls. And we know you do em because you love the game, but wed like to show our appreciation with some pressies. Just to say thanks. So we thought:
for doing one convention/demo, well send you a GM shield.
for the second one well post a signed print of your favourite piece of Waste World art.
for the third, well send you the source book of your choice, signed by Bill.
Rangers who have already done demos, get in touch and well sort something out for you.
We will provide Rangers with all the support we can for Waste World demos at conventions and stores - paying any entrance fee required and sending support material (like fliers), in good time for the event.
We will also provide as much competition stuff as we can manage, signed/authorised copies of the upcoming 'A Fist Full of Credits' starter pack, signed copies of Waste World art etc.
When wanting to do a shop demo or convention wed like you to fill out the convention form (posted below) detailing the what/when/wheres. During the convention we need you to get people who try the game to put their names and contact details on a players list (posted below). This is so we can sound them out on the game - whether they loved it or hated it.
On the optional but appreciated list are photographs of people playing at the event, which wed like to be able to scan and put on the web site, and an accompanying report of the games played/happenings which we can put on the web site as well.
To reclaim your entrance fee we will require a ticket stub and receipt, flyer from the event, and copy of the order form (if you paid in advance).
A note, I think, is needed on the Ranger T-shirts idea. They were back-burnered for a while, and are still there, simmering away. But it doesnt look like theyll be done for another few months. Ultimately, however, they will appear, and be damn tasty. (From The Art of Over-Extended Metaphor vol. III")
As a Ranger you'll also get the benefit of seeing the rules for the sourcebooks ahead of publication. We'll listen to your comments, make necessary changes, and credit you in the book.
