Kelly

I purchased the kit for this doll from Phyllis Hill of Mini-Made Imaginations. The mold is 'Kelly, smiling' from Parker Levi.

When I worked on this doll, I kept calling her 'Kelly' and the name stuck. 'Kelly', means 'Kelt/Celt', so it seems a fitting name, since this doll is wearing a plaid skirt. However, after she was done, her name became "Kelly with Big Feet", or "Kelly with Hiking Boots", as Ed calls her. This was my first time trying to make shoes and socks. The fabric I used for Kelly's socks was too thick, so her shoes turned out to be large too. Oh well. Kelly is pretty enough that it will make up for her 'deformity'. She is a pre-teenager, and I am sure she will grow into those feet!

Kelly has a ribbon in her hair, and she is carrying her cardigan sweater. Phyllis gave me ideas how to make a sweater. Kelly was already dressed by the time Phyllis 'shared her secrets', so she will just carry her sweater. This photo doesn't really show the pleats of her skirt very well.
