| I dug through my stash of mini fabrics, in search of curtain fabrics. I narrowed my choices down to 5 fabrics, and asked the other shadowbox-building people for their opinions. Most people liked plaids #4 and #5, but I felt that they were too 'country' feeling, and not really 'cabiny'. I finally decided to use two fabrics. I used the red, green, and white gingham (#5) for a curtain in the door's window, and chose the Logan plaid (#2) for the widow's curtains |

| Something fun behind the window is a dollhouse sitting on a table. It is 288th scale. Gee, I thought that 144th scale was tiny! I drew a dollhouse with the computer and cut and pasted it into a dollhouse. There isn't much detail to it, but it will work fine behind the window. | |
![]() | Another weekend was spent on the project, and things are finally coming together. It was to the point that "A has to be done before B, and C has to be done as well". The box was ready, and the interiors were ready, so the cabin, chimney, and porch could finally be glued into the box. |

I stained the box, and rubber-stamped and painted the trees, moose, and
bear. I think that the stained exterior fits the rustic feel of the
cabin. Inside the box, the 'ceiling' is painted blue with sponge-painted clouds. Trees are on the horizon. As one shadow-box-building volunteer stated, it looks like the cabin is located in a valley somewhere. | |

| "Winter" has been added. The landscaping had me worried, since I don't really enjoy landscaping. The snow is made from light-weight spackle. The shadowbox is not quite complete, but it is close! I have a few more things to add. Diane made the skis and poles. They are top-of-the line cross country skis. |
