Polymer Clay Dolls

In August 2000, Sue Heaser was visiting Judy Smith (Judy's Littles) who is a member of my local club. We talked Sue into doing a polymer clay workshop for us. We learned how to sculpt a child doll, and we also used (and purchased) molds from Sue to make children dolls.

I had enough clay to make three dolls. Emily (dressed in lavender) is the doll that I sculpted (with a lot of help from Sue!). Sarah and Bradley were made from Sue's molds.

These dolls are fully-jointed. They bend at the knees and elbows, and they can stand or sit down.

Pictures from the workshop are on my club's page.

I made these two dolls later. The blonde one was made for my club's Christmas gift exchange. The person who won it was Hannah, Dawn's young daughter. After Hannah opened the gift, Dawn said that it was perfect for her, since Hannah had been saying she needed people for her dollhouse. A neat thing about this doll is that her hair is the same color as Hannah's, and it is styled the same way that Hannah was wearing hers that evening! I told Hannah that she had to give the doll a name. Without evening thinking, Hannah named her Olivia.

The red-haired doll was a gift I gave to my e-mail buddy Jan. She named her doll 'Alice'.
