Halloween Hutch

Before:

I broke one door while I was trying to remove it. The doors were badly warped, so I replaced them.

The shelves were crooked. I split one shelf when I tried to remove it, so I replaced both shelves.

I removed the back brace, and didn't install it again, since it would have taken too much sanding to make it the same thickness on both sides. :-)

I added brace pieces to the bottom sides and sanded them to match the profile of the front bottom piece.

I used crackle medium to give the hutch a weathered look. Solid black would have been too 'blah'.

I put real hinges on the doors.

The lavender interior showcases the orange and black accessories.

The plates, teacups, and saucers started as Crysnbon pieces, which I painted. The crystal ball made from a marble and polymer clay. The cannisters are made from wooden shapes found at Michaels. The contents are "Gnat's Eyebrows", "Horse Feathers", and "Bee's Knees". The drippy candles and candle stands are made from polymer clay.

The bottom shelf contains books with titles from Harry Potter books. The medium container minds "P's & Q's". The friendly witch who owns this hutch has a large cannister for her familiars' cat treats.
