This is my Christmas Tin, from the 2000 Spokane Miniature Club's Workshop, held in Spokane, Washington.

At the workshop, we were given a bag of goodies and a tin. The tins were supposed to be all holly leaves tins, but two weeks prior to the workshop, the supplier was unable to provide enough of them, even though the tins had been ordered a year in advance! I did not get a holly tin, so I swapped my ugly green tin for a brown Chocolate tin. I am happy with my choice.

I used most of the materials that were provided with the kit, but I did make a few changes. Instead of 3 'elf' beds in the loft, I built my own 'regular' sized bed. I made a new round table, since the one in the kit was too small. I placed the table and the chair in the loft since the downstairs area seemed too crowded. The lamp on the table was from a kit I purchased from Anita McNary-Haynes.

I added wainscoating to the walls in the downstairs area. The green paper that was provided with the kit looked too boring to me, so I wanted to add my own striped wallpaper. With the curve of the corners of the tin, the stripes did not look right, so I added the wainscoating, which not only squared the corners, but created a little shelf on either side of the room. I had purchased a tiny metal train and engine, intending to put it around the base of the Christmas tree. But having overdone it, when making 1/4th inch scale Christmas presents, I decided to put the train engine and cars on the shelves.
